Gilbert Chavez Visits Pomona High School

Gilbert gave a brief overview of how to buy a car. We discussed locating a car online or in the paper. We further discussed doing a valuation of the car off of KBB.com, Edmonds, online etc..

We talked about how the process works in a typical dealership and what to watch out for.

We talked about negotiating and how the dealer prices new and used vehicles.

Additionally, we discussed how financing a car works and how to build solid credit. I talked a little about Auto Aves and how our process works. We had a few kids whose parents had bought cars from us, one as recent as last weekend.

We further discussed trade ins and how negative equity impacts a purchase and what dealers do with over allowances and how a consumer should be cautious when it comes to buying a car and being upside down in their trade in.
